My favorite thing to do in January is plan a vacation, look ahead, have something to look forward to. It is not always going to be like this. Soooo, Hawaii here we come. The count down to April 1st is on! 67 more days.

This is our Christmas card photo this year. We couldn't pick just one photo, so I did a collage of things we did this year. Ash in her prom dress, Nauvoo, golf team, California trip, constitution at the Utah capital, Bear Lake, etc. It was a great year.

Halloween is over, does that mean it is time to start the Christmas commercials. Sure enough first one spotted on November 1. I miss Thanksgiving. No decorations. No Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. (I guess I have to make an exception to piano practicing. Ashley's recital piece is Christmas.)

This is one of my favorite things. I love when I was growing up and hearing the bells ring every fifteen minutes. I miss that.

I found this quote today as I was cleaning out my junk at school. I remember when I was choosing a career I thought that I was just going to be a mom, so the best thing I could learn in college was how to be a better mom. I thought graduating in Family and Consumer Science was going to teach me everything I needed to know to be a mom. Well, I am just starting my 21st year as a teacher. My choice in career is strange because I thought I was choosing the ultimate career. I guess I am just supporting that ultimate career by teaching kids to be a homemaker. Now if I could just be brave enough to quit teaching and take on the ultimate career!

Wow, I have blog. Now what do I do? Are people really going to read what I have to write? What if I use poor grammar, bad spelling? Who is going to correct me? No one? Ok, I guess I will just write what I want.
